NEW MURAL BY FEDERICO MASSA
This whale appears in a tight situation, very close to getting engulfed by a number of large octopus arms. The person responsible for this large underwater themed mural is Italian Brooklyn-based artist, Federico Massa aka Cruz. The mural is entitled “Corrientes Furiosas Que Acarician Y Que Destrozan “ which roughly translates to “Petting And Furious currents that destroy” .To view it this work in person, head to Myrtle and Evergreen in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn.

We discovered Federico Massa’s wondrous artwork this past fall on the streets of Bushwick, and we became instant fans. We recently had the chance to speak with him in his Brooklyn studio.
Federico Massa AKA CRUZ was recently spotted in Brooklyn, between Myrtle Ave and Evergreen St. His large mural entitled “Corrientes Furiosas Que Acarician Y Que Destrozan” (translated “Furious Currents That Can Caress and That Can Destroy”) creates a lively marine world.

This is a really awesome piece done by Cruz for the “La Linea” Project in Cholula, Mexico. His work seems to represent the areas that he paints at so well… like with this one donning a snake mustache taken straight from the Mexican flag. And you have to love the gold teeth… pure cartel.
Italian born now Brooklyn-based Street Artist Cruz took the show on the road to Spanish speaking localities this summer to share these humor inflected symbol portraits. One wall is in Cholula, Puebla in Mexico and the other one in Okata, Spain near Barcelona.
